After a Security Administrator has configured the data protection policy, he starts the de-sensitization via the web-based Admin Console (1). The eperi sEcure Platform connects to the selected database and reads a field entry to be protected (2). In the token database, a corresponding token is searched or, optionally, a new token is generated (3). Finally, the original field entry in the target database is replaced by the token (or the encrypted value) (4).
