The following section provides some basic guidelines around some initial tests to
prove that the eperi sEcure Platform is intercepting and encrypting sensitive data in your
Microsoft 365 instance.
Before you begin
If you are currently logged in to your Microsoft 365 tenant as
an administrator, then log out, and log back in as your test user.
Procedure
-
Log into Microsoft 365 via the eperi sEcure Platform:
-
Open a web browser, and enter the appropriate URL
(login. followed by your eperi sEcure Platform hostname)
e.g. https://login.demo.eperi-cdp.com.
-
Enter the username / password of your test user (e.g.
test.user@demo.eperi-cdp.com).
Once logged in, you should see the Microsoft 365 home screen with a number
of application tiles.
The URL in your browser should show something like
this:
https://office.demo.eperi-cdp.com.

If your
eperi sEcure Platform hostname does not
show in the URL, then your configuration may be wrong, and sensitive data may
not get encrypted.

-
Test the email encryption:
-
In Microsoft 365, click the Mail app tile.
-
Create a new email from within your browser and enter an address into
the To: field, as well as a
subject and
body.
-
Click Save draft, and the newly composed item
should be saved to the Drafts folder. This will
be sent later.
-
Log into Microsoft 365 directly to confirm that the email is encrypted:
-
Open another browser window or tab.
-
Log in to Microsoft 365 directly, using the following URL: https://login.microsoftonline.com
-
You should now enter the username / password of your test user (e.g.
test.user@demo.eperi-cdp.com).
-
Click the Mail app tile.
-
Open up the Drafts folder, and confirm that the
previously created email is saved in Drafts, and
that the email is encrypted.
-
Return to the browser window connected through the eperi sEcure Platform:
-
Open up the previously created email from your
Drafts folder.
-
Ensure there is a valid recipient in the To:
field (a mailbox you have access to) and send the email.
-
Check that the email has been received by the recipient as is still
unencrypted.
-
Reply to the email and enter a response in the body of the email.
-
Click Send.
-
Return to your browser window connected via the eperi sEcure Platform.
-
Read the response, which should be unencrypted.
