To operate eperi sEcure Platform, it is necessary to set up a database in which eperi sEcure Platform stores configuration data and token values.
The software you need for the installation of eperi sEcure Platform is available at the eperi Customer Portal.
Upload all installation packages previously downloaded from the eperi Customer Portal to your target system. In order to upload the eperi software to your target system, you can choose between the following options: copy the files locally or use remote copy via SSH.
Install eperi sEcure Platform on your target system with the help of the automated installation package. The installation package includes all software components on which eperi sEcure Platform relies, e.g., Apache Tomcat, Java JCE cryptography patch, Java, etc.
If an installation with the automated installation package is not possible, you can alternatively install eperi sEcure Platform manually as a web application archive (WAR file).
If you don't want to install eperi sEcure Platform on your system directly, you can alternatively start a docker image containing eperi sEcure Platform.
The automated installation package of the eperi sEcure Platform is shipped with a self-signed TLS certificate. It is used to secure the data transfer between the eperi sEcure Platform server and the Admin Console with TLS. We recommend to replace the shipped certificate with your own certificate right after the installation of the eperi sEcure Platform.
Increasing the memory available to the Java JVM can help eperi sEcure Platform performance. Try to give your Tomcat server as much memory as you can.
Complete the following steps to configure eperi sEcure Platform.
To search and index data, the eperi sEcure Platform uses the open source search platform Apache Solr. For testing purposes you may install and configure Apache Solr in Cloud Mode on the same server as eperi sEcure Platform.
For a production environment, a cluster setup is recommended for performance reasons. In such a setup, a loadbalancer distributes the incoming browser requests to multiple eperi sEcure Platform instances. The eperi sEcure Platform instances are connected to a Solr and a database cluster (e.g., a MariaDB Cluster).
eperi sEcure Platform runs as the service eperi-gateway on your operating system. In order to start, stop or restart the eperi sEcure Platform service, you could use the standard commands according to your Linux operating system.
The eperi sEcure Admin Console Admin Console is a web-based interface available for IT system administrators to manage proxies, apps, keys, users, token profiles, data protection policies, and other settings.
